Walking the hillside site With David I saw the opportunity of moving the entry to a much better location and being able to use the existing top floor in a much better layout. Adding a stair tower to the west side of the existing home allowed for a better flow throughout the house and added new views, access, and fun for the entire house. The updated spaces tied to the new stair towner, decks, and yards opened up the house directly to the exterior. What fun to reorganize the entire home for one great guy.
We did need to work very diligently with the city on rules and definitions. In the end we achieve this addition without any hearings or code modification requests. The word EACH has a new meaning now. One must stay on top of plan check determinations and work for our clients interests.
